King Felipe VI inaugurates the university academic year 2023/2024 with a ceremony in which Juan Cayón, Rector of UDIT, takes part.
King Felipe VI presided over the official inauguration of the 2023/2024 academic year of Spanish universities, in a ceremony held in the auditorium of the University of Cantabria.
On his arrival, the monarch was received by Ángel Pazos, Rector of the University of Cantabria; Joan Subirats, Acting Minister of Universities; Eva Alcón, President of Crue Universidades; María José Sáenz de Buruaga, President of the Government of Cantabria; María José González Revuelta, President of the Parliament of Cantabria; Gema Igual, Mayoress of Santander and Ainhoa Quiñones, Delegate of the Government.
Dr. Juan Cayón, Rector Magnificent of UDIT, University of Design and Technology, attended this event, along with 27 other rectors of Spanish universities, in which King Felipe VI spoke about the many challenges facing education today. He also praised the heterogeneity of the Spanish university system, made up of more than 1,000 faculties and schools linked to more than 9,000 official qualifications and its wide range of academic offerings available for the education of more than 1,700,000 students in the country.
