UDIT celebrates the III edition of ILUSTRAFEST, the Madrid Illustration Fair

UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology will host the 3rd edition of ILUSTRAFEST, the Illustration Fair of Madrid, on 3, 4 and 5 April.

Curated by Inmaculada Corcho, Director of the ABC Museum of Drawing and Illustration and co-directed by Juan Carlos Gauli, director of the Audiovisual and Graphic Creation Area and of the Audiovisual Design and Illustration Degree at UDIT and Javier Chavarría, Director of the Master's Degree in Illustration at UDIT, this new edition will be held for the second consecutive year within the framework of IlustraWeek, the Madrid Illustration Week organised by the trends and culture magazine El Duende.

The exhibition will be made up of a total of 40 stands, where attendees will be able to purchase the work of different professional illustrators such as Verónica Grech (author of this edition's Ilustrafest image), Lucas Farias, La Riso Guapa, Mónica Rühle, Artistas del Barrio, La Fiambrera (with Curro Suárez, Ricardo Martínez or Roberto Maján), Cinta Arribas, Albertoyos, Cris Valencia or various illustrators from APIM or USK Madrid, among others.

Ilustrafest will also host a retrospective of the covers created by the Spanish artist and illustrator Ana Juan for the prestigious American magazine The New Yorker over several decades of collaboration.

In addition, it will also be possible to enjoy and buy the work of illustrators and teachers from the University such as Pepe Medina, Ana Escalera, Jorge Chamorro, Noelia Bascones, Juan Lorenzo and María Eugenia Blázquez, as well as 50 students from the degrees in Audiovisual Design and Illustration, Multimedia and Graphic Design, Animation and Fashion Design and from the University's Master's Degree in Illustration.

Finally, the line-up of participants in ILUSTRAFEST 2025 will be completed by various representatives from the University of the Arts London, as well as the teachers and artists Anna Kodz and Maciej Majchrzak from Akademia Sztuk Pieknych in Poland.

The University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT) held the workshop "Neuro-environments: Redesign your space to think and learn better", given by Ivette Caldelas and Alejandro Martínez, researchers from the NEURO_COLAB group, at the Base International School. The session inaugurated the series "Neuro-Environments: Educate, Communicate and Design for a healthy brain", an initiative jointly organised by the NEURO_COLAB and GITDcom groups within the Science Week Madrid 2025.
