UDIT, winner of the Madrid Open Cities Awards
- The 3rd edition of the Madrid Open Cities Awards recognised UDIT's innovative educational model with the Education and Training Award.
- More than 200 personalities from the social, political and business spheres gathered to recognise the initiatives, companies and projects that position Madrid as a city of innovation and opportunities.
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology has been recognised with the Education and Training Award at the Madrid Open Cities Awards, the awards that recognise the initiatives and entities that position the city of Madrid as a global benchmark, as a result of the institution's educational model, based on creativity, technology and design.
At a ceremony held at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and presided over by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, more than 200 personalities from the region's social, political and business spheres attended the 3rd edition of these awards, which recognise the initiatives, companies and projects that position Madrid as an innovative city full of opportunity.
The President of the Community of Madrid, who opened the event, pointed out that: "we are an economic lung at the service of Spain. We are a region that contributes, that grows, that today represents almost 20% of the national economy, that creates an average of 73 companies a day, that provides 1 out of every 4 jobs in Spain, and that surprises others with our volume of research and development".
For his part, Gerardo Seeliger, President of Madrid Open Cities, stressed that "Madrid is one of the great cities of the world. But we can bet on much more, and that is that by building a better Madrid, we can build a better Spain. Madrid needs more than ever to attract and create competitive talent and this is one of our commitments".

Recognition as a promoter of the city of Madrid
In this third edition of the Madrid Open Cities Awards, UDIT has been recognised with the Education and Training Award, given as a result of the institution's work in the development of an innovative educational model based on creativity, technology and design.
The award was collected by Rosa Pérez Sanz, President of UDIT and Juan Cayón Peña, Rector of the institution, who stated that "at UDIT we firmly believe in the transformative power of education and innovation and, at our institution, technology and design come together to train the leaders of tomorrow. Only through disruptive and innovative initiatives that value and promote the talent of our young people can we at UDIT give back to Madrid's society a hundredfold," said Juan Cayón on receiving the award.
