UDIT participates in the celebrations around Women's and Girls' Science Day
In the framework of the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Research Department of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology has held, in collaboration with the ASTI Talent & Tech Foundation, the round table Designing Tomorrow: Women and Science, with the participation of several students from the University.
Implemented by UNESCO and UN Women, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated every year with the aim of encouraging access and promoting full and equal participation in science by girls and women.
Presented by Aida Santos, head of the UDIT library, and moderated by Estefanía Serrano, Territorial Delegate of Madrid in the ASTI Talent & Tech Foundation, the round table was attended by Alicia Touris, student of the Degree in Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments; María Mencía, student of the Master in Artificial Intelligence and Elsa Gil, student of the Master in Product Design and member of the DESIDEr research group of UDIT.
In this session, in which they talked about the role of women in sectors that are, a priori, predominantly male and about the search for female referents in these sectors, the participants were able to relate their personal and professional experience in their field of study.
By holding this colloquium, UDIT seeks to support the work of women researchers and their contribution to knowledge, as well as to increase the motivation of girls and young women to become part of the fields of innovation and technology.
