Two UDIT Video Games students travel to New York to attend the "Games for Change" festival
Jesús García Gutiérrez and Darío Muñoz Lanuza, students of the Degree in Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments at UDIT, had the opportunity to travel to New York City to attend the "Games for Change" festival, promoted by the non-profit organisation of the same name, which is dedicated to providing support, visibility and shared resources to people and organisations that use serious games for social change.
The students were awarded because their project K.O. (Knight Overhand) was one of the top-rated projects at Match In Games, the University's Video Game Entrepreneurship and Employment Fair.
Knight Overhand, developed by alumni Darío Muñoz Lanuza (Programmer), Jesús García Gutiérrez (Designer/Producer) and Alberto Liu Zhu (Artist) is a 2D platform game aimed at all those players looking for a challenge with novel mechanics and fluid movement. It is aimed at young audiences who want to find new challenges and enjoy playing games of skill and adventure.
20 years of Games for Change
The Games for Change Festival is an annual conference, held in New York City, where video games, technology and immersive experiences with a strong social focus are given visibility.
The 2023 edition, which takes place from 17 to 21 July, represents the 20th anniversary of this event and will include a session at the UN headquarters.
