Official Double Degree in Robotics + Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Can you imagine designing technology that not only obeys instructions, but also perceives its environment, reasons and collaborates with human beings?

At UDIT we train you to master the most demanding intersection of current engineering. We combine the tangibility of robotics with the analytical power of Artificial Intelligence so that you don't have to choose between building the machine and programming its mind.

With this double degree, you will acquire a unique holistic view: you will design the mechanics, electronics and sensorics (the body) while developing the Deep Learning and machine vision algorithms (the brain) that grant real autonomy. It's not just theory; it's the practical ability to create systems that transform complex data into useful physical actions.

Get ready to be the nexus that industry needs. A professional capable of creating assistive, collaborative and autonomous robots, always putting technical innovation at the service of people.

  • Because at UDIT we offer you a unique opportunity to lead the next industrial revolution. We combine the practical and creative methodology of our Bachelor's Degree in Robotics with the analytical rigour of Data Science. Today's market is no longer looking for isolated profiles; it demands "Full-Stack" automation engineers: professionals capable of designing the robot's body (mechanics and electronics) and programming its mind (Artificial Intelligence and Data) so that it can make autonomous decisions.

  • You need a hybrid and versatile profile. On the one hand, you need to develop logical and spatial thinking to design mechanisms and understand the physics of robots. On the other, you need analytical skills to find patterns in data and create efficient algorithms.[1] But above all, you need curiosity and ethics: at UDIT we don't just train technicians, we train the people who will define how humans and intelligent machines will coexist in the future.

  • You will leave with full technical proficiency. You will use languages such as Python, C++ and SQL; you will handle industrial operating systems such as Linux and ROS 2 (Robot Operating System); and you will work with Artificial Intelligence and Simulation environments such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Gazebo and MATLAB. In addition, you will be trained with visualisation and cloud tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Azure and AWS.

  • Projects will follow our Learning by Doing methodology, increasing in complexity each year. Some real examples are:

    • Design and programming of autonomous mobile robots that navigate in unknown environments.
    • Training of neural networks for a robotic arm to recognise and manipulate objects using Computer Vision.
    • Development of virtual assistants and Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems.
    • Creation of IoT (Internet of Things) systems that capture sensor data in real time to optimise industrial processes.
  • They are inseparable pieces of the same puzzle. Robotics provides the "body" and the ability to act in the physical world. Data Science enables that robot to understand its environment by capturing and processing sensor data. And Artificial Intelligence is the "brain" that uses that data to learn, adapt and make decisions without human intervention. Studying all three together exponentially multiplies your capacity for innovation.

  • If you want to study this Double Degree, you can do so by fulfilling the legal entry requirements (EVAU, FP Superior, etc.). However, the recommended entry profile is clearly the Bachelor's Degree in Science and Technology. It is very important that you have a good grounding and agility in Mathematics and Physics, as well as a real interest in computer science and technology.

  • The first step is to request information (web, telephone 91 555 25 28 or email orientacion.universitaria@udit.es). The next step is to take our own admission test, which aims to find out your skills and motivation. Once you have been admitted, make a registration reservation to guarantee your place. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Yes, absolutely. Upon completion, you will obtain two official Bachelor's degrees: the Bachelor's Degree in Robotics and the Bachelor's Degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Both are verified by ANECA and internationally recognised. You should be careful with other offers on the market that are not Official Degrees; to check, you can always consult the RUCT (Register of Universities, Centres and Degrees).

  • This is UDIT's differential approach. While traditional engineering focuses only on the efficiency of the machine, we focus on interaction. You will learn to design service, assistance and collaborative robots (cobots) designed to work alongside humans in a safe, natural and ethical way, improving people's quality of life.

  • UDIT does not require a cut-off mark to access this Double Degree. We believe in vocation above a tenth. However, due to the high demand and technical demands of the programme, students must pass our specific admission tests to ensure that their profile is suitable for the degree.

  • Of course. As we offer two Official Degrees, you can apply for all public grants (Ministry and Community of Madrid). In addition, these are compatible with our internal study grants. If you have a good academic record or if technology is part of your DNA, don't hesitate to apply.
