UDIT students participate in the Hackathon for Sustainable Fashion and New Materials
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology participates in the Hackathon for Sustainable Fashion and New Materials, the initiative promoted by the EELISA RC community of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, which will count with the participation of different students of the Bachelor in Interior Design, the Degrees in Fashion Design and Interior Design, and the Master in Interior Design, from UDIT, together with students from the PSL University of Paris, the ITU of Istanbul, the BME of Budapest and the FAU of Germany.
In this hackathon, which is also supported by ASECOM (Association of Clothing and Fashion Companies of the Community of Madrid) and CIEC (Centre for Innovation in Circular Economy), specific challenges will be proposed to develop solutions to real challenges posed by different companies that are part of ASECOM. A total of 13 challenges will be worked on, related to digital manufacturing (additive and subtractive), biomaterials and sustainable biotechnology, experimental techniques of digital craftsmanship, and wearables.
UDIT will participate with 24 students belonging to the Bachelor in Interior Design, the Degrees in Fashion Design and Interior Design, and the Master in Interior Design, who will develop their projects in mixed groups, made up of students from different countries and universities.
This week, between 3 and 6 March, all the face-to-face work sessions will take place, as well as the presentation of the projects at the CIEC headquarters in Madrid. In addition, previously, between 24 and 28 February, different on-line sessions were held, in which the formation of the groups was communicated, the specific challenges were presented to them and they were given the opportunity to start working on them.
