OVERVIEW

If you've always imagined creating your own video games, designing immersive worlds, building levels, or bringing characters and stories to life, this degree is for you. At UDIT, you'll turn your passion for gaming into a real career within an industry that generates more than 2.4 billion euros annually in Spain. You'll learn to create interactive experiences by combining game design, art, and programming while developing the projects you've always dreamed of building.

From day one, you'll experience what it's means to be part of the video game industry. You'll take part in game jams, creative challenges, and real-world projects, working with professional game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine while learning from industry experts. You'll also have access to specialist facilities, including high-performance workstations, Wacom Cintiq 22" pen displays, audiovisual production labs, a dedicated motion capture studio, 3D workstations, and cutting-edge VR, AR, MR, and XR equipment, giving you the opportunity to develop your projects using the same tools and workflows as professional game studios.

As the first official university in Spain to specialise in video games, we developed this degree hand in hand with the industry to reflect how professional studios really work. You'll be taught by experienced professionals currently shaping today's games and gain your first industry experience through internships with leading companies such as Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Tequila Works. Throughout the programme, you'll also take part in game jams, competitions, and real-world projects in an environment that mirrors the day-to-day reality of a professional game studio, where your ideas evolve from classroom concepts into playable experiences.

We are active members of DEV (Spanish Video Game Development) and AEVI (Spanish Video Game Association), we have promoted the Madrid Video Game Cluster and we collaborate with the Spanish eSports Team, among other strategic projects.

This new degree is born from direct contact with the studios: it prepares you to become a digital artist specialising in video games, with a visual, narrative and technical approach aligned with real production flows. Here you don't just come to study art. You come to build it to be part of a global industry.

  • The degree curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including:

    • Fundamentals of Video Game Design: you will learn the basic principles of design, narrative and gameplay.
    • Programming and Development: you will learn to program in the most widely used languages in the industry, such as C++ and Unity.
