Behind every unforgettable character, every film that defines a generation, and every world that captures our imagination are artists who transform ideas into experiences. At UDIT, you'll learn to create worlds and visual narratives with a distinctive identity, capable of engaging audiences across film, television, video games, advertising, and emerging digital platforms, while developing a well-rounded, versatile artistic profile ready for an ever-evolving creative industry.

At UDIT, you'll learn to create the way leading studios do. You'll receive comprehensive training covering the entire production pipeline, from drawing and storyboarding to 2D and 3D animation, modelling, visual effects, and post-production. You'll work with industry-standard software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Maya, Blender, Houdini, and ZBrush, building a strong artistic and storytelling foundation that will prepare you to adapt to any project, studio, or production style throughout your career.

Studying Animation at UDIT means becoming part of a creative community connected to the industry from day one. You'll learn from professionals working on some of today's most acclaimed productions, take part in festivals, competitions, and real-world projects, and gain professional experience through internships at studios such as Skydance Animation, Globomedia, Endemol, Apolo Films, La Caña Brothers, and Tequila Works. At UDIT, you'll do more than create, you'll tell stories that leave a lasting impact and bring to life the projects that will inspire the next generation of audiences.

  • If you come from the Spanish education system, to study this Degree at UDIT you must meet at least one of the following requirements:
    • Having passed the University Entrance Examination (EVAU) with a pass mark.
    • Students coming from a Higher Level Training Cycle or FP II.
    • Students accessing from completed Spanish university studies.
    • Students accessing through the University Entrance Examination for over 25 years old, for over 40 years old and for over 45 years old.

    Students coming from educational systems outside Spain:

    • Students from pre-university education systems of European Union member states and countries with reciprocity agreements.
    • Students in possession of the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
    • Students from foreign pre-university education systems.
    • Students with foreign university studies who gain access through homologation of their studies.
    • Students with official foreign university studies completed or not yet completed who are admitted by official validation.

  • In UDIT's Bachelor of Animation, you will immerse yourself in an educational programme that combines art, technology and visual storytelling. Over the course of four years, you'll gain skills in:

    • Character and set design: learn how to create memorable characters and detailed worlds.
    • 2D and 3D animation: master traditional and digital animation techniques.
    • Modelling and texturing: become an expert in modelling and texturing objects and characters.
    • Editing and post-production: learn the secrets of editing and post-production to perfect your projects.
    • Visual storytelling: develop your skills to tell stories effectively through animation.

  • Yes, all Degrees taught at UDIT are official and internationally recognised.


  • All our degrees start from scratch, so it is not necessary to take a specific type of baccalaureate.

    It is true that due to the type of our degrees, it is usually recommended to take a baccalaureate in arts or science and technology.

    The purpose of the entrance exam is to get to know the profile of the future student in order to be able to offer you personalised attention and, if necessary, to reinforce any previous skills, such as artistic drawing.

    In no case should you be concerned about your previous training when it comes to getting the most out of our degree courses.

  • You will learn through a learning by doing methodology, developing projects in the different subjects that will allow you to build your portfolio and acquire fluency and experience in the development of full productions.

  • To access the Bachelor's Degree in Animation at UDIT, it is advisable to have studied a bachelor's degree in:

    • Arts: this bachelor's degree will provide you with a solid foundation in artistic techniques and creativity.
    • Science and Technology: if you have technical and analytical skills, this bachelor's degree will also prepare you well for the technical aspects of animation.
    • Humanities and Social Sciences: if you have an inclination towards storytelling and the humanities, this bachelor will help you strengthen your storytelling skills.

  • The Bachelor of Animation at UDIT lasts four years. During this time, you will participate in practical projects, industry collaborations and have access to the latest technologies in our state-of-the-art facilities.


  • To become a successful 2D and 3D animator, you need:

    1. Creativity: the ability to imagine and create unique worlds and characters.
    2. Technical skills: proficiency in animation software such as Autodesk Maya, Adobe After Effects, and Toon Boom Harmony.
    3. Knowledge of animation principles: understanding fundamental concepts such as timing, squash and stretch, and anticipation.
    4. Teamwork: the ability to collaborate with other animators, designers, and industry professionals.
    5. Strong portfolio: an impressive portfolio showcasing your best work and projects.

    The next step is to take the level test, the aim of which is to find out the student's academic competences, allowing you to detect reinforcement actions before the start of the course.

    Once you have taken the test and have been informed that you have been admitted to UDIT, make a registration reservation to guarantee your place for the next course. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Of course, by offering you an official degree, you can apply for all the public grants for this type of degree. Moreover, official scholarships are compatible with our internal study grants. Come and visit us

Arrange a visit to our Madrid campus from Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, sign up for the Open Days we hold on Saturdays or the online information sessions.

Admission process:

University Degrees: to guarantee the best match between your profile and the degree chosen, the admission process includes two tests:

  • Psychopedagogical test
  • Personal interview with the academic department of the degree

Once you have taken the test and have been informed of your admission to UDIT, you must book your enrolment to guarantee your place for the next course. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
