Bárbara Castillo Abdul, lecturer at UDIT, part of the jury of the Cosentino Design Challenge
- 323 international projects competed in the 19th edition of the competition, which counted with the participation of Bárbara Castillo Abdul, Principal Researcher of the GITDCom Group.
Last Friday 20th June, Bárbara Castillo Abdul, lecturer at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, and Principal Researcher of the Research Group on Innovation and Digital Transformation of Communication (GITDCom), was part of the jury at the 19th edition of the international Cosentino Design Challenge.
Bárbara Castillo Abdul shared the judging panel with internationally renowned academic figures such as Lucía Pérez Lomas, from the Val del Omar School of Art; Vrushali Mhatre, from Heriot-Watt University; Belén Puebla, from the Rey Juan Carlos University; and Óscar Gómez Bohórquez, from the University of Luleå. In addition, the jury was chaired by Santiago Alfonso, vice-president of Global Communication of the Cosentino Group, and was attended by guest architects such as Gemma González and Roberto García.
This competition, in which a total of 323 projects by design and architecture students from different parts of the world were judged, has the objective of fostering creativity and critical reflection among future professionals in these areas, integrating innovative and sustainable proposals that respond to contemporary challenges of the urban and natural environment.
This participation reinforces UDIT's position as an academic benchmark in the training of new leaders committed to innovation and social transformation through design. It also consolidates the role of the GITDCom Group as a key player in the dialogue between digital communication, sustainability and design practices.
Likewise, this international collaboration allows for the establishment of new strategic alliances for the aforementioned research group and amplifies the scope of its scientific and educational production.
