ECSIT participates in the first meeting between university professors in Spain who use Wikipedia and the Wikimedia environment as a tool for educational innovation.
Last June, ECSIT was invited by InnovaWiki, the Wikipedia Consolidated Teaching Innovation Group of the Rey Juan Carlos University, to the meeting, where twenty professors from different disciplines and twelve Spanish universities participated.
The aim of the meeting was to establish the basis of a Collaborative Network for all those teachers who use platforms such as Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata and Open Street Maps in higher education.
The representative of the ECSIT group of UDIT was Rafael Conde, IP of the group and member of Wikimedia Spain, who has previously carried out educational innovation actions using free tools, such as the 2021 Mapathon with the Red Cross mission in Burundi, in collaboration with the TECSOS Foundation.
As a result of the meeting, a monograph will be created and published that will bring together the teaching experiences with Wikipedia and other tools developed over the years by the participating teachers and researchers.
From this meeting, a Collaboration Network will emerge in which ECSIT will participate in research and projects that will emerge from it.
