The fashion firm Kaotiko and ESNE join forces in a sustainable project for a charitable purpose.

Madrid, 12 December 2022. ESNE, University of Design and Technology, and the urban fashion firm Kaotiko have joined forces to work together for a charitable purpose. To this end, Kaotiko has donated 75 garments to ESNE that have not passed its strict quality control and around 60 students from the Fashion Design and Multimedia and Graphic Design degrees have transformed them in a workshop held at the University, giving them their own style and managing to turn these defects into an opportunity to make something unique and extraordinary.
In this way, sweatshirts, T-shirts, polo shirts or trousers have been recycled and elevated thanks to the creativity of the students who have created a new and exclusive product.
All the garments have been put on sale at a charity market on the University Campus and the proceeds will be donated to the NGO "Ellas lo bordan", a sewing workshop with an impact, which offers job opportunities to women at risk of social exclusion.
In order to carry out this collaboration, ESNE students attended a workshop a few weeks ago, which was opened by Germán Bernard, CEO of Kaotiko, who explained to ESNE students the importance of how to optimise resources in fashion production.
The workshop was led by Concha Romeu, an artist who works with fabrics, and Ardiya, DJ and stylist, owner of a hat company that also recycles garments. Romeu and Ardiya were teaching the students different creative techniques for treating fabrics, some of which were later put into practice when creating the new garments.
About Kaotiko
Kaotiko is a fashion company that was born in 1999 under the premise of "Bringing fashion to the street, creating a community that shares much more than a lifestyle" and that bets on a local textile production, leaving aside the concept of "fast fashion", with creations designed and produced in Barcelona and surroundings, giving a more exclusive character to each garment. Kaotiko is also committed to a sustainable future and claims a responsible fashion and consumption, so another of its objectives is that the garments are increasingly sustainable, made with fabrics and materials from sustainable sources that reduce the impact of their production on the environment.
