The designs of four students of the Degree in Fashion Design are exhibited at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid - Barajas Airport.
This exhibition has been held in the airport's VIP lounges since June.
Since last June, 5 looks designed by students of the Degree in Fashion Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, have been exhibited in the VIP lounges of Adolfo Suárez Madrid - Barajas Airport, thanks to the collaboration between the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and AENA .
This exhibition is part of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting the city of Madrid as a tourist and cultural destination, and will feature some of the designs from the Lo Fugaz(Spring-Summer 2024) and Lo Eterno (Fall-Winter 2024/2025), presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the result of cooperation between UDIT and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
These collections, inspired by the Museum's Permanent Collection, reinterpret some of its best-known works. Alongside the designs, replicas of the works of art themselves are exhibited, so that travellers can witness this reinterpretation and find the common elements between the two creations .
The designs chosen to be exhibited are those of Lucía Borrego, inspired by Edgar Degas' Dancing Ballerina Tilting; Sofía Labrador, who reinterprets the Portrait of Giovanna degli AlbizziTornabuoni by Domenico Ghirlandaio, in two different proposals; Celia Canellada, based on The House among the Roses by Claude Monet; and Daniel Berrueco, inspired by Jan van Eyck's The Annunciation Diptych.
This exhibition gives visibility to young talent and the work of UDIT alumni, whose designs already surprised during their appearance at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
