Masterclass by Mario Alfonso: Data Foundations for AI

The Innovation Hub of the Campus of Technology, Innovation and Applied Sciences of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology received last Tuesday 25th March at 17:00 hours, the visit of Mario Alfonso, founder of Alteria Automation.

In his masterclass "Data Foundations for AI" he explored the importance of data when working with artificial intelligence models, highlighting how quality affects performance. In this sense, concepts such as Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO) and failures in AI due to the use of poor data, such as the introduction of biases in facial recognition systems, were addressed.

This session, organised by the Master in Artificial Intelligence, showed how to classify information and data sources more effectively by analysing key metrics. It also addressed the different challenges involved in data management for AI, from privacy to the way it is stored.
