Leading professionals from the Animation industry form the Jury of ANIMAFEST UDIT 2025

  • This competition, organised by UDIT's Bachelor's Degree in Animation, aims to showcase and reward emerging talent at university, pre-university and international level.


ANIMAFEST UDIT 2025, the animation competition and festival organised by UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, which aims to become a professional springboard for the work of students and a meeting point for the industry in Madrid, celebrates its first edition on Tuesday 17 June at the University's Design and Creative Industries Campus.

It will feature a Professional Jury in charge of awarding a total of 11 prizes and made up of leading names from the sector, who have wanted to be an active part of this initiative, whose main objective is to make visible and reward emerging talent at university, pre-university and international level.

Thus, the ANIMAFEST UDIT 2025 Professional Jury will be made up of:

  • Shira Ukrainitz: director, illustrator and animator nominated for the Goya for Best Animated Short Film with 'La Prima Cosa', an animated documentary that premiered at the Annecy Festival. She has also directed other titles such as 'Los Espacios Confinados', selected at the Berlin Festival, and 'El último Mouflon', premiered at the Seminci in Valladolid.


  • Marta Gil: animation director on the multi-award-winning feature film 'Rock Bottom'. She has directed a dozen short films and has worked as an animator on the educational app Kokoro Kids. She is also a member of the board of directors of the MIA Association (Women in the Animation Industry) and author of several articles in the magazine 'Con A de Animación'.


  • David Castro: director, producer and graduate in Pedagogy, he has been nominated for the Goya Awards as Executive Producer of the animated short films 'Uka' and 'Todo está perdido'. He has also received the Audience Award at the Malaga Festival for his short film 'Carmela', has chaired the Filmmakers' Union until 2023 and has been part of the advisory team for the book 'Cinema and Education' of the Film Academy.


  • Mariana Loterszpril: Executive Director of Latinlab, she is a specialist in content and production for children and adolescents in various formats. She has directed the channel TECtv, on science and technology, has been part of the team of the Original Production department of Discovery Kids Latin America and currently works as an independent international consultant, advising on development processes and content for children's and youth series.


The ANIMAFEST UDIT 2025 Professional Jury will present the awards for Best Animaweek 2025, Best Short Film Project, Best Direction, Best Original Script, Best Character Design, Best Background Design, Best Sound and BSO, Best Editing and VFX, Best Alumni Short Film, Best International Short Film and Best Short Film of the Year. For their part, those attending the short film screening, which will be held from 12:00 hours onwards, will award the Audience Award.

A day full of activities

The agenda of ANIMAFEST UDIT 2025 will begin with a welcome by Blanca Bonet, Director of the Degree in Animation at the University, who will give way to the aforementioned viewing of the short films presented in competition.

After that, attendees will be able to enjoy two exciting and fun masterclasses, given by Víctor Paredes, Chilean animator and co-founder of Moho Animation Software, and Sara Vivas and Carlos Ysbert, dubbing actors from The Simpsons. Also, in addition to being able to experience the Awards Gala first-hand, they will have the opportunity to get to know the creations of the students of the Degree in Animation, who will have an exhibition and networking space in the hall of the building located at Avda. Alfonso XIII, 97.
