Vogue USA's Sarah Mower at ESNE: young talent in the fashion industry
Sarah Mower is one of the most prominent figures in the fashion world. Her career is consolidated thanks to her sharp articles for Vogue USA, as well as her fervent commitment to young designers, exemplified by her work as an ambassador for emerging talent in the British Fashion Council.
It was last November 23rd, when Mower came to ESNE and turned the University into the epicentre of fashion for a day. Her visit, accompanied by ESNE professor and fashion designer Ernesto Naranjo, included a talk-colloquium and a subsequent viewing of the work of the students of the Degree in Fashion Design.
During the talk 'New Talents: Dialogue between Sarah Mower and Ernesto Naranjo', the journalist reviewed the different perspectives that the industry encompasses. Together with Naranjo, he explained how he started his career - in the British newspaper The Guardian -, gave his opinion on Spanish fashion and young Spanish designers - with special emphasis on the iconic Loewe house and admiring the revolutionary trajectory of Palomo Spain -, and analysed the evolution of retail, which has gone from the boutique concept to a totally experiential process.
After the talk, Mower visited the ESNE facilities with a special stop at the Armani Workshop where several students of the Degree in Fashion Design had the opportunity to present some of their work. Specifically, the journalist was able to see several projects by Juan Rodríguez, Juan Carlos Barragan, Inés Sevillano, Marina Winternitz, Daniel Berrueco, Raul Martínez, Antonio Navarro, Lucía Centeno, Laura Varela and Natalia de Francisco, as well as the students Jorge Moreno and Eduardo Rodríguez. The finishing touch to a day of luxury.
Thanks so much for your visit Sarah!
