In order to support the talent of young designers at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, and to develop their visual identity, the UDIT Gender, Design and Visual Culture Research Group (GENIUS) has launched a competition to create a logo and isotype.
Laura Lázaro, a student of the Degree in Multimedia and Graphic Design, was the winner after creating a logo inspired by research and gender perspective, using the pictogram of the woman merged with a magnifying glass.
Both integrated elements seek to reinforce the idea of the interdependence between gender and research, highlighting the importance of closely examining how this relationship influences both design and culture.
In addition, the base of the figure adds an additional layer of meaning to the design, conveying the message of inclusion and gender equity.
The student's design will become the official image of this group oriented towards the investigation of scientific advancement through different academic disciplines, in which the female gender stands out as both subject and target, from women represented to women creators.
