María Eugenia is a PhD-accredited Architect, awarded Cum Laude for her doctoral dissertation titled “The Architecture of the Store: Javier Carvajal’s Projects for Loewe.” Her research focuses on fashion retail design and how architecture influences companies within the fashion industry.

As part of her academic and research work, she has been a Visiting Scholar at the London College of Fashion (2017) and at the RIBA – Royal Institute of British Architects (2017–2018), as well as a speaker at various national and international conferences on fashion and architecture.

She has taught in several institutions: in the Bachelor’s Degree in Design at Universidad de Navarra as a lecturer for Design Studio IV (2018–2020); in the Master’s program at ISEM Fashion Business School, teaching Creativity (2014–2020) and Visual Merchandising (2014–2020); at ELLE Education, where she teaches Fashion and Luxury (2020–present); at CEDEU, as a lecturer in Marketing and Communication Planning (2022); and at UDIT, where since 2021 she has been teaching Fashion Management and Communication and courses in the Graphic and Audiovisual Design degree program.

She has published several articles on store architecture and Javier Carvajal’s projects for Loewe, as well as multiple book chapters.


She is an Architect specialized in Landscape Design from the University of Navarra and holds an Executive Master’s in Fashion Business Management from ISEM Fashion Business School, in addition to completing several programs in Fashion Marketing and Sustainability.

María Eugenia has worked in the fashion industry in the areas of commercial management, design, and visual merchandising, while also developing her creative side through her own brand, Eugeniota Collection, focused on the design of prints and the production of silk scarves and stationery featuring her own artwork

She has also designed prints and collaborated with several other brands, including Lady Pipa, Rita Von, Cotoli, Kids Molones, Licor 43, Litel Family, and Makai, among others.
