UDIT opens the admission process for the new Doctorate in Design and Technology Applied to Business
Expansion of the title, maximum two lines, briefly explaining the context or impact of the research, preferably including figures or impact data in this space.
The University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT) announces the official opening of the admission process for its new PhD Programme in Design and Technology Applied to Business. This academic space is aimed at training researchers capable of leading innovative projects that respond to current social, business and technological challenges.
The programme combines solid research training with a practical and interdisciplinary approach, promoting the transfer of knowledge from academia to the business world. Its training activities include seminars on research ethics, dissemination of results and key competences for innovation, as well as joint initiatives with the business ecosystem through cooperation agreements and projects.
In order to adapt to different professional realities, the PhD can be taken full-time (4 years) or part-time (7 years). This flexibility facilitates the participation of those who combine research with other responsibilities.
UDIT offers doctoral students the infrastructure of its campuses for the development of high-impact projects. In Madrid, the Alfonso XIII Campus and the Alcalá Campus offer unique spaces such as the Protospace, the Materioteca, specialised laboratories and applied research areas, consolidating an ideal environment for experimentation and innovation in design and technology.
José Luis Olazagoitia, vice-rector of Research at UDIT, says: "This doctorate was created with a clear vocation for applied impact: to train researchers capable of prototyping, validating and transferring real solutions in design and technology. Our aim is to accompany doctoral students in the generation of evidence, the transfer of results and the creation of value for organisations and society, anticipating the challenges that will mark the next decade".
Support for research careers. Students who obtain the place may have access, depending on merit and suitability to the university's lines of research, to pre-doctoral grants for three years to support their careers, including aid for attendance at national and international conferences, stays abroad and mobility in research networks.
Admission and timetable. Interested researchers can consult the admission requirements on the institutional website and send their documentation to escuela.doctorado@udit.es.
The admission period will remain open until 31 October 2025, with activities starting in January 2026.
