UDIT presents its Doctorate in Design and Technology Applied to Enterprise
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, in collaboration with the European University of the Atlantic, announces the launch of its Doctoral Programme in Design and Technology Applied to Business, which will start in the academic year 2025-2026.
This programme, coordinated by the Vice-Rector for Research José Luis Olazagoitia, was created with the aim of promoting the training of researchers with profiles capable of joining applied research in the field of design and technologies oriented to business solutions.
This is the first doctoral programme promoted by UDIT and arises in a context in which digitalisation and technological transformation are redefining the way in which companies operate and in which more and more organisations are demanding effective solutions in which the skills associated with design and the use of technology to boost business growth are gaining relevance.
In this sense, the training is articulated around the research line Design and Technology Projects, understanding the projects from a broad and multidisciplinary perspective. This line of research analyses how current technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, augmented reality and the Internet of Things (IoT), among others, can be applied to innovation and research to improve business efficiency through design and technology.
Beyond technological research, the PhD programme places a strong emphasis on the sustainability and economic viability of projects, promoting strategies to assess the social and environmental impact of innovations. It also promotes an ethical and responsible framework in the application of new technologies. Another of the fundamental pillars of this doctorate is the relationship between design, technology and its application in business through projects.
This first doctoral programme marks a before and after in UDIT's trajectory, consolidating its role as a centre of reference in research applied to design and technology. In collaboration with the European University of the Atlantic, it reinforces its commitment to research, technological development and innovation (R+D+i), aligning itself with national and international strategies for the generation of advanced knowledge.
