UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has started the 2025-2026 academic year with two Welcome Days for its new students, held at the two campuses of the University: the Campus of Design and Creative Industries and the Campus of Technology, Innovation and Applied Sciences

These Welcome Days, promoted by the University's Vice-Rectorate for Students, Employability and Internationalisation, served to welcome the new students of the different degrees taught at the University, with whom information of general interest was shared in an initial event, after which the different directors and coordination teams of the degrees offered, by groups, specific talks about them.

Juan Cayón, Rector of UDIT, was in charge of opening these welcome days with an inspiring speech, in which he gave the students a series of advice for this new adventure they are about to begin

"Enjoy the journey. You have not come just to study a degree. You have come to discover who you are. [Living these years with passion is the only way to make the most of them. Every class, every conversation, every challenge is an opportunity to grow," the Rector began. "Your path is unique and full of possibilities. Albert Einstein put it clearly: "The person who follows the crowd will usually not go beyond the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to reach places where no one has been before". Be courageous in your authenticity

In his speech, Juan Cayón stressed the importance of surrounding yourself with inspiring people and becoming an inspiration to others, as well as keeping a positive attitude. "Talent opens doors, but attitude keeps them open. [Cultivate humility, perseverance and respect. [Be generous, be respectful, be a good person. Not out of fear of punishment, but because it is the right thing to do. [Life is about love, and so is the university

The Rector also reminded those present of the important role the institution will play in the next four years: "UDIT offers you much more than classes. It offers you challenges, connections, unique experiences. [We are here for you. We love our work, and we believe in the transformative power of education. [...] Feel the University as a space of support and trust"

Connection and creativity from day one

With the aim of closing these welcome days in the best possible way and generating unforgettable memories, the Vice-Rectorate for Students, Employability and Internationalisation organised a fun activity centred on two of the main pillars that support UDIT: creativity and connection

In groups formed by students from the different degrees, the new students enjoyed a gymkhana in which they had to overcome various photographic challenges with the help of instant cameras and, of course, the rest of their classmates, teaching staff and University staff.

An activity that allowed them to put an end to the first day's nerves, generate their first connections and give free rein to their creativity, and which was accompanied by live music, provided by the university group Marcela, porfavor
