GITDCom is characterised by its integrative and pioneering approach, addressing everything from social transformation driven by digital technologies to research on emerging innovations such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. This group seeks not only to understand current trends, but also to anticipate and shape the future of digital communication. This multidisciplinary perspective is essential to address the sector's complex challenges and foster innovation.
Among its main goals is to investigate the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain on communication and society. They will also focus on developing creative and effective strategies for the creation and distribution of digital content. Analysing the behaviour of digital audiences and promoting digital literacy are also key priorities for the GITDCom.
Another crucial objective is to improve user experience (UX) and interface design in digital media, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing practices and their evolution in a constantly changing environment. In addition, the group will contribute to the formulation of policies and practices that promote truthful information and combat misinformation. Research in corporate communication and public relations will also be a key focus, developing new strategies and tools to manage online reputation and communication crises.
GITDCom will focus on several key research strands, including social transformation and digital networks, new narratives and immersive technologies, digital marketing and advanced analytics, digital culture and diverse audiences, emerging technologies and digital communication, user experience and design, corporate communication and public relations, and advertising and branded content. These areas cover crucial topics ranging from the impact of social media on public opinion to the use of artificial intelligence to generate and optimise digital content.
The creation of the GITDCom at UDIT, under the leadership of Dr. Bárbara Castillo Abdul, promises to revolutionise digital communication research. With its focus on user experience, corporate communication and digital advertising, the group will not only contribute to academic knowledge, but also offer practical solutions to industry challenges. Through its innovative and cutting-edge perspective, GITDCom aims to shape the future of digital communication and become a reference in Spain and beyond.
