UDIT experiences, for the first time, the Science and Innovation Week
The University of Design, Innovation and Technology is experiencing Madrid Science and Innovation Week for the first time, from 7 to 20 November, through 4 free scientific dissemination activities open to the public.
The Madrid Science and Innovation Week is an event for scientific dissemination and citizen participation organised by the Community of Madrid through the Madrid+d Foundation for Knowledge, whose aim is to actively involve society in the processes of research and development in science, technology and innovation.
BIOMATERIALS AND DESIGN, A NEW LOOK AT CREATING PRODUCTS - 13/11/2023
The workshop consists of making small products with biomaterials, e.g. paper pulp or mycelium. Students will be able to see the design process and create their own pieces in the FABLAB. Developing their creativity and innovation in product design using biocompatible and sustainable materials.
Time: 14:00-15:30 (15 people).

TEAM ANIMATION - 7/11/2023

We will divide the students into groups and assign each group a specific animation project previously chosen by themselves. It can be the creation of an animated short film or an interactive scene. Students will work together on the idea of designing, modelling and animating the scene. Encourages intrinsic motivation and collaboration by assigning different roles to each team member, such as modeller, animator and lighting. Provides clear guidelines and delivery times to keep students focused and motivated.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN: ROADMAP FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS OF DESIGNERS - 14/11/2023
Interactive exhibition including: Capsule designs under the philosophy of circular design.
Showing the ideation process: choice of raw materials, pattern making, editorial... emphasising the importance of real recyclability and the subsequent impact of the proposals presented. Implementation of new digital technologies for virtualisation of CLO 3D garments.

LEARN HOW TO WRITE AND EDIT ARTICLES ABOUT SCIENCE IN WIKIPEDIA - 15/11/2023
In this workshop we will learn how to edit Wikipedia to write about science, differentiating between scientific and non-scientific sources. The workshop is aimed at university and secondary school students and teachers.
