Victoria Vásquez, lecturer in the Fashion Department at UDIT, takes part in the 'Raíces' exhibition at the Costume Museum.
Victoria Vásquez, professor of Dressmaking, Modelling and Clo3D in the Fashion Department of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, is part of the exhibition 'Raíces', organised by the Museo del Traje to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Regional Costume Exhibition.
The teacher, together with Miguel Alonso Frutos, from EME STUDIOS, has been in charge of the digitalisation of the Lagartera wedding dress. A great challenge due to the large number of garments and pieces that make up this costume and the level of detail used in this digitisation.
In the case of the Lagartera wedding dress, as it is such a complex garment, one of the main objectives of this digitalisation is to clearly and reliably show the positioning of all the garments that make it up, as well as their name, measurements and assembly. As well as, of course, continuing to work towards heritage conservation.
This digitisation, which can be enjoyed through this animation, follows the line of work of Victoria Vásquez, who is currently working on the FIRST research project, focused on the recreation of reliable clothing through 3D.
The exhibition 'Raíces' can be visited in the Temporary Exhibition Hall of the Museo del Traje (ground floor) until 19 October.
