Visit of Colombian delegation at UDIT organised by the OTRI and the Vice-rectorate for Research
On 10 October, UDIT received an outstanding delegation of Colombian entrepreneurs from the education, technology and innovation sector, with the aim of exploring opportunities for academic and business collaboration. The visit, organised in collaboration with the Office for the Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) and the Vice-Rectorate for Research at UDIT, sought to foster the exchange of knowledge and the creation of joint projects that would benefit both Spanish and Colombian institutions.
The delegation was received at UDIT's Aula Gutenberg for a meeting with the principal investigators (PIs) of the university's research groups, the OTRI team, the Director of Corporate Relations and the Vice-Rector for Research. The meeting focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration in areas such as degree recognition, student and faculty exchange, as well as the management of research projects funded by national and international entities.

The Colombian delegation was led by Tito José Crissien Borrero, renowned businessman and former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia. Crissien is CEO of Mangus, Executive Director of Cientech, and former rector of the Universidad de la Costa (CUC), as well as member of its Board of Directors. D. in Materials Science and MBA, Crissien has been a major driver of technology initiatives and has more than 1,000 citations in scientific articles. He has also managed the CRACKTIVE LAB Video Game Innovation District in the Atlantic.
The rest of the delegation was made up of:
- Lina Zambrano, co-founder of Iriz Marketing and creator of the "Redes Para Emprender" project, which has trained more than 600 entrepreneurs. Psychologist and MBA student, she is a social media strategist.
- Eduardo Crissien Borrero, current Rector of the Universidad de la Costa CUC, former councillor of Barranquilla and former representative to the Colombian Chamber of Deputies. He holds a Master's degree in Education and is a specialist in real estate management.
- Astelio Silvera, Rector of the Corporación Universitaria Iditek and lawyer with extensive experience in education and legislation in Colombia.
- Franklin Navarro Stefanell, tax auditor of multiple companies and research professor at the Universidad de la Costa CUC, with specialisations in administration, finance and auditing.
- Ana María Echeverría, advisor to higher education institutions, with training in business administration and educational quality assessment.
- Armando de la Hoz, manager of the Idis Foundation and financial consultant, with experience in international taxation and taxation.
- Wilfrido De La Rosa Viloria, Executive Sales Director at Mangus SAS, MBA professor at the Universidad de la Costa CUC, and electronic engineer specialising in project management.
The visit of this delegation is part of a joint effort to strengthen ties between Colombia and Spain in innovation, education and technology. The visit allowed the Colombian entrepreneurs and academics to learn about UDIT's research advances and explore possible future collaborations.
