The Sitges Film Festival and the Los Angeles Film Awards, among others, awarded the short films of the students of the UDIT Animation Degree.
In 2025, titles such as Ventura, Frat Magic or A Solid Future have been recognised at renowned international and national festivals .
The students of the Degree in Animation know what it is like to see their work recognised, not only by teachers and classmates, but also at the main festivals of the film scene and the animation industry, both nationally and internationally.
This is the case of Ventura, a short film directed and scripted by Juan Cermeño, with the participation of the alumni Urtzi Errasti, DexRubio, Javier Jiménez, José Lin, María Vicente, Mika Hernández, Triana Mañas, Lucas Bedate, Alma Candil, Ares Asegurado, Marta Mourenza, Julián Sueiro and Celia Márquez.
In addition, in 2025, Ventura has been part of the Official Selection of the A Mi Kultúránk (AMIK) Rövidfilmfesztivál, MECAL - Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival, Sitges Festival, Time Line Film Festival and Valencia Indie Film Festival, at international level, as well as the KID Festival at national level.
It has also been a finalist at the Europa Film Festival, a success that rounds off an unbeatable trajectory for this short film, in which four friends prepare to compete in the most important race in their city, inhabited by humans, elves and anthropomorphic animals .
Triumphing in the United States
Frat Magic, a short film by students María José Fernández, Ricardo "Copo" Guerra, Jaime Betegón, Celia Prada, Ícaro López, Claudia García, Marta Sologuren, Sandra Chicote and Ángel Manuel García, also knows what it means to succeed on the international scene this year. Specifically, in the United States .
This short film, in which a party without atmosphere is transformed into an unforgettable experience after the appearance of a genie, has been a finalist at the New York Short Animation Festival and a semi-finalist at the Los Angeles Film Awards, two prestigious competitions with which it has crossed the Atlantic and landed in a leading market, dreamed of by young professionals.
National success
In the last year, the short films of the students of the Degree in Animation have also travelled around Spain, participating in festivals such as Weird Talent. There, the short film A Solid Future was selected to form part of its programme, in the non-competitive category .
Thus, the short film directed by Javier de la Torre, scripted by Aitor Esteves and produced by Lucía Lorenzo and Noelia Gordo, with the participation of Nerea Robles, Carlos García, Alfonso Nieto, Aisha Dirilo, Mariana Poiche, Alessandra Rodríguez and Sindy Fuentealba, was screened in front of numerous industry professionals. An important leap for the project and the students responsible for it, which once again reflects the talent of the university's students.
