On 19 June 2024 the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) through the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI) notified the University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT) of the resolution of the evaluation of the applications for research periods submitted.

On 19 February 2024, UDIT submitted an application for the recognition of six-year research periods (consecutive or not) in calendar years, known as Sexenios de Investigación, for researchers at the university.

Thus, the resolution has been positive for 7 UDIT researchers. Specifically, ANECA, through the CNEAI, has recognised the following researchers in their corresponding periods with a Research Sexennial:

  • María Beltrán Rodríguez with a Research Sexennium between the period 2013-2018.
  • Rafael Conde Melguizo with a Research Sexennial between the period 2014-2022
  • Marta de Miguel Zamora with a Research Sexennial between the period 2018-2023
  • María de las Nieves Febrer Fernández with a Research Sexennial between the period 2016-2022
  • Francisco Javier Fernández de Gorostiza Luengo with a six-year research period from 2010-2015.
  • José Luis Olazagoitia Rodríguez with a six-year research period from 2018-2023.
  • María José Pérez-Luque Maricalva with a six-year research period from 1994-2021.

This recognition by ANECA demonstrates UDIT's commitment to quality research, a reflection of the hard work of all the university's researchers. In addition, the recognition also demonstrates the adequate performance of the university's different research groups.

Academic and research excellence is a key element of any higher education institution and, through distinctions such as this, UDIT is positioned as an entity involved in this objective.
