FEELMOTION: The Last of Us day

  • Date
    25 April 2024
  • Schedule
    12:00

On Thursday 25 April, the Auditorium of the Design and Creative Industries Campus of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, hosted the celebration of "The Last of Us Day", an event organised by the FEELMOTION International University Short Film Festival in collaboration with the University's Degree in Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments.

With an edition focused on dystopian worlds, in "The Last of Us Day" the attendees enjoyed an immersion in the post-apocalyptic universe that, last year, became a successful series.

Almudena Soria, co-founder of the Wildflower Interactive studio and, previously, Lead Animator at Naughty Dog, the legendary developer of successful sagas such as Crash Bandicoot, Uncharted and the acclaimed The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II, gave a session in which she spoke about character design and animation in the video game industry.

To complete the day, there was a marathon of dystopian short films presented by the teachers Cruz Delgado and Raúl San Julián, as well as a round table discussion made up of academic experts and moderated by the teacher Rubén Burén, under the title "Dystopia through the eyes of video games, film and literature"; in addition, throughout the day, those who came in costume to the event could compete in a costume and cosplay competition.
