UDIT will once again be present at FiestaDesign with its own space, designed by the alumni and interior designer Teresa Criado, in collaboration with her team from Estudio Hilera.

For the 2025 edition, the University of Design, Innovation and Technology will have the collaboration of Ideatec Advanced Acoustic Solutions, which has provided the necessary material for the creation of this exhibition and conceptual space.

Ideatec Advanced Acoustic Solutions is a Spanish company that operates nationally and internationally and is backed by more than 35 years of experience in the manufacture of sound-absorbing panels for walls and ceilings. Ideatec Advanced Acostic Solutions, specialising in the supply of integral acoustic solutions, has been commissioned to supply more than 4,000 customised pieces of polyester fibre (PET) in marbled brown for the creation of the work Estructuras Vivas: Entre lo Visible y lo Sonoro (Living Structures: Between the Visible and the Sound).

The sound-absorbing polyester fibre panels that have been used for the production of the aforementioned pieces, in addition to being enormously versatile and offering a notable acoustic improvement for the space, are made up of 60% recycled plastic bottles. Thus, they represent an ecological and sustainable solution, which adapts perfectly to the needs of the space, thanks to the customisation offered by Ideatec.

The atypical university

For the second consecutive year, UDIT will have its own space within the framework of FiestaDesign, an environment located in the Institución Libre de Enseñanza (P.º del Gral. Martínez Campos, 14 - Madrid) and specifically designed to encourage the public to connect with design, allowing for first-person experimentation.

Under the name of The Atypical University, four jewel pieces designed by UDIT alumni and students will be exhibited. The first of these is the structure itself, for which IDEATEC pieces have been used.

Created by UDIT alumni Teresa Criado, together with her team at Estudio Hilera, the exhibition project Estructuras Vivas: Entre lo Visible y lo Sonoro focuses on a continuous, multi-purpose structure that acts as the skeleton of the space, supporting and sheltering both the sound-absorbing curtains and the design pieces. This creates a totally dynamic space that allows the visitor to move freely through the work.

FiestaDesign can be visited free of charge from Wednesday 12 February until Sunday 23 February. You can download your ticket by clicking here.
