ILUSTRAFEST 2025, Madrid's Illustration Fair

UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology has held the III edition of ILUSTRAFEST, the Illustration Fair of Madrid, which took place on April 3, 4 and 5, from 12:00 to 20:00 hours, at the Campus of Design and Creative Industries (building C/ Colombia, 44) of the university.

Curated by Inmaculada Corcho, Director of the ABC Museum of Drawing and Illustration and co-directed by Juan Carlos Gauli, director of the Audiovisual and Graphic Creation Area and of the Degree in Audiovisual Design and Illustration at UDIT and Javier Chavarría, Director of the Master in Illustration at UDIT, this new edition was held, for the second consecutive year, within the framework of IlustraWeek, the Madrid Illustration Week organised by the trends and culture magazine El Duende.

The exhibition consisted of a total of 40 stands, where attendees could purchase the work of different professional illustrators such as Verónica Grech (author of the Ilustrafest image of this edition), Lucas Farias, La Riso Guapa, Mónica Rühle, Artistas del Barrio, La Fiambrera (with Curro Suárez, Ricardo Martínez or Roberto Maján), Cinta Arribas, Albertoyos, Cris Valencia or various illustrators from APIM or USK Madrid, among others.

Ilustrafest also hosted a retrospective of the covers created by the Spanish artist and illustrator Ana Juan for the prestigious American magazine The New Yorker.

In addition, it was also possible to enjoy and buy the work of illustrators and teachers from the University such as Pepe Medina, Ana Escalera, Jorge Chamorro, Noelia Bascones, Juan Lorenzo and María Eugenia Blázquez, as well as 50 students from the degrees in Audiovisual Design and Illustration, Multimedia and Graphic Design, Animation and Fashion Design and from the University's Master's Degree in Illustration.

The line-up of participants in ILUSTRAFEST 2025 was completed by various representatives from the University of the Arts London, as well as the lecturers and artists Anna Kodz and Maciej Majchrzak from Akademia Sztuk Pieknych in Poland.
