Javier Sanz, director of the Product-UX Design Department at UDIT, will form part of the Technical Commission of the Madrid Industrial Factories Network.
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, will occupy a prominent place in the management of the Madrid Industrial Factories Network. In its resolution of 20 December, the Madrid City Council has determined that Javier Sanz Cortés, Director of the Product-UX Design Department at UDIT, will be a member of the Technical Commission of the Industrial Factories Network. The purpose of this collegiate body is to analyse, debate and deliberate on the operation of the factories, as well as to make proposals for resolutions to the competent bodies.
The Industrial Factories Network is a project promoted by the Madrid City Council's Department of Economy, Trade and Consumption as part of its Plan Renove Industria 2021-2025. Its objective is to revitalise the city's industrial sector, offering spaces adapted to all types of companies that want to promote innovation within their sector, accompanied by specialised services in consultancy, financing, internationalisation and R&D, among others.
The ultimate goal is for this network to become a real R&D&I node for industrial activity in the city. In this sense, the new spaces are aimed at individual entrepreneurs or companies that produce goods and services with high added value, are committed to the design and development of new products or innovative manufacturing processes. In the long term, the plan includes actions such as redefining and reinventing business models through the new Innovation Labs.
In this sense, it is expected that not only the companies installed in these spaces will benefit, but also the rest of Madrid's research infrastructures, by virtue of the capacity for attraction, synergies and collaborations that will be the backbone of their operation. So far, two factories have already been set up in the districts of Villaverde and Vicálvaro and in the coming months, a third one will start its activities in Villa de Vallecas.
