UDIT's Interior Design students present their space at the 58th edition of Casa Decor
The only university to have its own space at the event
For the eighth consecutive year, the students of the Bachelor and Master's Degree in Interior Design at UDIT, University of Design and Technology, are participating in Casa Decor, the largest platform for interior design, design, trends and lifestyle, which opens its doors on Thursday 13 April -and will remain open until 28 May- in a splendid residential building in the Salamanca neighbourhood.
The chosen location is a building located at 92 Serrano Street, built in 1929, and has more than 4,000 m2 distributed in a ground floor, with a spectacular carriage passage, and three floors, which give rise to a total of 50 spaces that have been transformed thanks to the intervention carried out by professionals and the most important firms in the sector.
The building at Serrano 92 is a clear example of the buildings that remain faithful to the original approach to housing in the area, promoted by the Marquis of Salamanca from 1860 onwards.
For this edition, the students of UDIT's Interior Design Department have designed La Revolución de ESNE, a collaborative space designed by a total of 56 students of the Bachelor and Master's Degree in Interior Design in which, in addition, they have manufactured elements such as the 3D pieces of the walls, made in the FabLab of the University, and the lighting fixtures.
The ESNE Revolution is a space that seeks to represent the revolution and in which colour degrades and transforms, going from floor to ceiling and vice versa, through 3D printed pieces that evoke each of the students and members of the UDIT university community.
The luminaire, for its part, becomes the centre of the project together with creativity, reflecting each of the students' ideas, thus making them grow.
