A total of 29 students from the Official University Degree in Fashion Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology presented, as part of the 80th edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid catwalk, the Mundos Paralelos collection for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2025 season. In this way, UDIT renews its commitment to MBFWMadrid becoming, for the ninth consecutive year, the only University with its own fashion show within the official calendar of the catwalk.
Under the name Mundos Paralelos (Parallel Worlds), the young designers of UDIT showed their work in a catwalk show held on Wednesday 11 September at the Daoíz y Velarde Cultural Centre; a spectacular location that seeks a balance between past and present and in which, in addition, two parallel spaces managed to reflect opposing visions of the same image.
UDIT's Spring-Summer 2025 collection takes as its starting point the contrast between the real world and the dream world, giving rise to a concept that seeks to combine experiences to generate new realities.
The alternative worlds generated in this proposal, for their part, investigate how one's own or other people's experiences construct a society immersed in constant change and moved by polar opposites.
The conceptual work developed in this collection has given rise to a variety of contrasting silhouettes typical of the duality addressed by the theme. The students have created an imaginary full of textures generated by experimental textile manipulations, combined with artisanal techniques such as braiding, printing and upcycling. Likewise, use has been made of vaporous materials such as chiffon and silk organza, poplin or cotton tulle, as well as other heavier materials such as cotton denim or taffeta.
The colour palette, for its part, fuses neutral tones, with the inclusion of points of colour through various shades such as crimson red, orange or pastel tones.
Numerous representatives of the Spanish Government, the Government of the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council, as well as different representatives of European embassies in Spain, had the opportunity to enjoy the creations of the young designers of UDIT in person.
The designers of "Parallel Worlds" are Rodrigo Aragón Villacampa, Alba Cavero Álvaro Oliván, Ariadna Cintrano Torres, María Gema Coca Salmoral, Nuria Delgado Hernández, Triana Estévez Casado, María Fernández Pérez, Raquel Fernández Pérez, María Fernández-Mayoralas Alarcón, Aleksandra García Nurbaeva, Carlota Hernández-Botejara Vicente, Lucía Teresa Jacob Álvarez, Alisson Camila Jiménez Neuman, Aitana Llorente de Antonio, Carmen López-Ibor Segimon, Lucía Martín Romero, Rania Mohamed Gómez, Carlota Navarro Casero, Iván Parra Martín, Candela Pascual Rico, Celia Rodríguez Summers, Lucía Roizo Magán, Alicia Romero Faus, Camino Ruiz de Temiño Vigara, Javier Antonio Sánchez Sánchez Sánchez, María Camila Solalinde Melgarejo, Lucía Urreta Zubiría, Mar Valdés Valcárcel and Elena Vivanco Vilches.
