On Friday 27 October, the Auditorium of the Campus of Design and Creative Industries of UDIT hosted a round table promoted by the Videogames Area of the University, in collaboration with the specialised magazine AnaitGames.

This round table, moderated by Víctor Manuel Martínez, Content Director of AnaitGames, with the participation of Ángel Beltrán, Producer and Game Director at Talpa Games; Carla Sevillano, Level Designer at Talpa Games; Rocío Tomé, Game Developer, Gamedev Streamer and Femdevs Co-Founder, and Enrique Colinet, Lead Level Designer at The Game Kitchen, explored the how and why of level design, through the experiences of the participants themselves.

How does level design relate to the mechanics of a videogame, how can we anticipate how to interact with the obstacles and challenges of a level, what types of narrative can coexist in a level, how much is there of rules written in stone and how much of intuition, trial and error in level design?
