Lectures, workshops and screenings at Animayo 2025, the festival of reference for the Animation industry.
- Blanca Bonet, Director of the Degree in Animation at UDIT and Matías Marcos and Noel Pradana, lecturers at the University, will be giving master classes at this year's edition.
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, is actively participating in the 20th edition of Animayo, the prestigious summit dedicated to animated film, visual effects and video games. The University is an official sponsor of the event and is also part of its official programme with three interesting masterclasses.
Held in Gran Canaria from 7 to 10 May, this benchmark event for the animation industry offers a wide-ranging programme of activities. From masterclasses and practical workshops given by renowned professionals in the sector to special screenings and part of the official section, with titles in competition.
This year, Animayo welcomes professionals who have worked in production companies such as DreamWorks, Warner Bros and Paramount, participating in projects such as Tarzan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Batman: The Animated Series, Klaus, Gru 4: My Favourite Villain, Sing 2, Super Mario Bros: The Movie and Minions: A Villain is Born.
UDIT lecturers share their knowledge
Blanca Bonet, Director of the Degree in Animation at UDIT, an expert in being selected for festivals such as TIFF and Ventana Sur, will give the talk "Trial, style and error: the importance of the animated short film", in which she explains how the short film is a fundamental tool for animators, as it allows them to experiment and learn without the financial and production risks of a feature film.
Meanwhile, Matías Marcos, a teacher at UDIT with more than 40 years of experience in the field of animation, will give a talk on "Traditional professional animation and 3D animation for cinema", in which he explains the main aspects of these types of animation, their techniques, etc.
Finally, Noel Pradana, also a lecturer at UDIT, Doctor in Fine Arts and a specialist in 2D, 3D and video game animation, will give the master class "100 years in motion: discover your future in the animation industry". In it, he will review the history and evolution of the animation industry over the last century.
