Which baccalaureate do you need to study Interior Design?

If you want to start training in Interior Design, we tell you what baccalaureate you need to have studied to be able to access this Official Degree in Interior Design and what it consists of.

Is it necessary to have previous specific training?

No, if you want to study the Degree in Interior Design you can do so without having studied a specific baccalaureate, you must meet the entry requirements set out in art.3 of Royal Decree 412/2014, nor have prior knowledge about aspects such as rendering, rehabilitation, materials, construction systems ... All our Bachelor's Degrees start from scratch, so it is not necessary to take a specific type of baccalaureate that trains you in these areas

Although it is true that, due to the type of degree, it is recommended to take a bachelor's degree in the arts, you do not have to worry about your previous training to make the most of our degrees.

What will you learn in the Official Degree in Interior Design?

The Degree in Interior Design at UDIT is an official 4-year degree, in which you will work on all the areas that make up Interior Design: distribution and renovation of space, air conditioning, acoustics, choice of colours, lighting and materials.

During the first year, you will acquire thebasics of artistic, technical and architectural drawing. You will also begin to study the basics of interior design and art.

During the second year, you will delve into the theory of interior design and aesthetics and add skills in Design and Construction for both public and residential spaces.

In the third year, you will learn how to manage and organise construction, renovation and refurbishment, as well as how to design structures and installations.

The final year will be the final step for your insertion in the labour market, you will explore concepts of bionics and ergonomics and complete your design skills with ephemeral spaces and exhibitions and gardening and landscaping.

This degree is for you if you are a creative, imaginative, technically and artistically well-prepared person, capable of enhancing the experience of a person or groups of people through interior design.

What will you be able to do?

You will be able to work in five main areas: interior design, consultancy, window dressing and scenography, home automation and interaction and 3D visualisation.

In interior design you will be able to work as: interior designer, building renovation, lighting designer, furniture designer, home staging specialist, HORECA space design, landscape designer, among others.

In consultancy you will be able to work in areas and positions such as: retail consultant, contract consultant, project direction and management, works management in the field of interior design, trend consultant, among others.

In window dressing and scenography you will be able to work in positions such as: creative direction and visual merchandising, set designer, designer of ephemeral spaces, stylist and art director, among others.

In domotics and interaction you can work as a specialist in domotics and interaction.

In 3D visualisation you will be able to work as a specialist in the creation of realistic visualisations.

Degree in Interior Design at UDIT

You will be trained at the leading university in higher education in Interior Design, being the first to offer this university degree in Spain 15 years ago, and members of the Official College of Interior Decorators and Designers of Madrid (CODDIM) 

In additionyou will be able to build an attractive and competitive profile if you decide to study this degree in English. In the Bachelor in Interior Design, 100% of the teaching will be in English.

Do you want to experience Interior Design before September?

At UDIT's Trendsinterior Camp , you can find out if video games are your vocation. For two weeks, from 30 June to 11 July, you will learn the creative process applied to Interior Design. You will build a panoramic vision of all the phases of project development, from ideation to its definition and visualisation.
