Which bachelor's degree do you need to study Video Game Design?

Is it necessary to have previous specific training?
No, if you want to study the Bachelor's Degree in Video Game Design you can do so without having studied a specific baccalaureate, you must meet the access requirements set out in art.3 of Royal Decree 412/2014, nor have prior knowledge of development engines, graphic creation programmes or programming languages. All our Bachelor's Degrees start from scratch, so it is not necessary to take a specific type of baccalaureate that trains you in these areas. Although it is true that, due to the type of degree, it is recommended to take a bachelor's degree in the arts, you do not have to worry about your previous training to make the most of our degrees.
What will you learn in the Official Bachelor's Degree in Video Game Design?
The Bachelor's Degree in Video Game Design and Development and Virtual Environments at UDIT is an official 4-year degree in which you will be trained with a learning by doing methodology and focused on finding a job bycreating and designing your own games and virtual interactive experiences.
During the first year, you will learn basic transversal knowledge of programming, digital design, artistic drawing and projects, as well as theoretical notions of the video game industry.
During the second year, youwill specialise in one of the three specialisations: design, art or programming, and you will complete your training with basic subjects in 3D modelling, web design and storyboarding.
In the third year, you will acquire knowledge of marketing, advanced web design, project management and the legislative framework, while you study your chosen specialisation in depth and complete your professional internship.
The last course will be the final step for your insertion in the industry, learning to elaborate projects working with digital post-production, special effects and 3D engines.

What will you be able to do?
Career opportunities will depend on the specialisation you choose: Art, Design and Programming.
If you decide to specialise in Art, you will be able to work as an illustrator, concept artist, modeling artist, 3D generalist, lighting artist, art director, character rigger, animator, technical artist, among others.
With the mention in Design, you will be able to work in positions such as: video game scriptwriter, level designer, audiovisual and transmedia producer, user experience designer, game mechanics designer, QA tester, user interface designer, among others.
Finally, if you specialise in Programming, you will be able to work as: video game developer, AI systems programmer, user interface programmer, gameplay programmer, mobile game and app programmer, etc.

Do you want to experience Video Game Design and Development before September?
At UDIT's VideoGame Camp, you can find out if video games are your vocation. For two weeks, from 30 June to 11 July, you will learn the artistic and technological foundations on which the video game industry is based. You will finish the camp designing your own video game.
