Carlota Novillo and Hannah Valadés, third-year students of the Interior Design Degree at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, have been finalists in the 15th Porcelanosa 2024 Awards in the Design of the Future by Students category.
The brief for this new edition proposed creating a workspace using mainly materials from the seven Porcelanosa Group brands.
Their project aims to create a versatile and sustainable workspace, covering approximately 1,000 m².
The design contemplates various functional areas including a showroom, a space dedicated to the exhibition of final products; a product library, an area where resources and materials related to the products are collected; a coworking, a place for collaboration and joint work; toilets and cafeteria, a place to rest and recharge energies; common areas and finally, an outdoor car park.
The students also propose the creation of a completely new space, which would allow them to build a tailor-made, efficient and sustainable working environment from the ground up, with the main benefit being the design of a space specifically adapted to the needs of the project, maximising efficiency and functionality.
The winners of the 15th edition of the Porcelanosa Awards will be announced at the gala dinner to be held on 30 May at the Rosewood Villa Magna hotel in Madrid. The event will be attended by the winners of the three categories and will bring together professionals from the fields of architecture, interior design and real estate development.
