Mateo Millet Mora, a student of the Official University Degree in Fashion Design, presents his collection LO SUBLIME in the XIX Month of Emerging Design, an exhibition project of the Museo del Traje that was created with the mission of offering an exhibition space to new designers, so that they can find a culturally recognised place to show their work and proposals.

Mateo Millet's designs correspond to the Fall-Winter 2023/2024 season and are inspired by the concept of ugliness, recreate the sublime of death and reinterpret the discourses imposed on the repugnant.

The collection, which was presented to the public at the UDIT fashion show at the 77th edition of the MBFWMadrid catwalk, proposes a fabric made manually from sisal and hemp fibres, which travels towards the idea of the organic and natural.

This proposal raises the idea of beauty in the putrefied, through the representation of the corpse and the process of decomposition through which it passes. The illustrated series Body of a Courtesan in Nine Stages of Decomposition (1870) by Kobayashi Eitaku is taken as a reference.
