Miguel Montoya, Andrea Torralba and Diego Rodríguez, all of them students of the Degree in Product Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, have won prizes at the prestigious international LIT Awards, which recognise the effort and talent of the designers and executors of lighting products at international level.

In the Desk Lamps, Floor Lamps category, Miguel Montoya, a second year student of the Degree, was the winner thanks to his project "Nido di Luce", a floor lamp design inspired by the organic shapes of eggs. Thanks to the fact that a large part of the lamp is hollow, it acquires a light, simple and elegant appearance; furthermore, to emphasise the idea of the egg, the light is placed in the centre, simulating the location of the yolk and helping to create a counterweight to keep it stable despite its light weight.

Andrea Torralba and Diego Rodríguez received an Honourable Mention respectively.

Andrea's project"ECOS" is a large-scale wall luminaire inspired by the concept of forms that share a connection without physical contact, such as ballet and echo. Ballet shows the subtle and harmonious connection between two dancers who, although not physically touching, share a meaningful connection on stage. The design emphasises continuous elegance and harmony in movement. In this dance, each of the rods represents a dancer who is activated by generating a connection between them, as well as the central moving circle.

Diego's project, "Starway to Heaven", is a set of modular design lamps with three customisable pieces. Each module can be stacked, separated or positioned as desired, whether you want a tall, bold centrepiece or a soft, scattered light, giving the user the option to tailor the lighting to their own needs.
