The Portrait of Giovanna degli Albizzi Tornabuoni by Domenico Ghirlandaio (Domenico Bigordi) has been the source of inspiration for the design by Sofía Labrador, student of the Degree in Fashion Design at UDIT and for "Trateggio", a delicate cylindrical piece made by the student of the Degree in Product Design at UDIT, Sofía Martín.

Both designs are the result of the unique collaboration developed between the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza and UDIT, University of Design and Technology. In addition, Sofía Labrador's look was part of the collection presented at the 79th edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid catwalk show, where the students interpreted different Renaissance works from the museum's permanent collection.

Using the silk-screen printing technique, Sofía Labrador's design seeks to capture in her look the concept of the break between reality and the ideal. This idea is reflected in details such as the slashes, an element that breaks to reveal the inner fabric, or in the mix of fabrics used by the student for her design.

Sofía Martín, for her part, inspired her creation in the ringlets in Giovanna Tornabuoni's hair, resulting in a 3D piece capable of adapting to different spaces and which can be used as a light diffuser in a lamp, candle holder or vase; furthermore, thanks to the porous material in which it is made, the design is capable of capturing the aroma and making it last.

For a week, the students' talent was on display in the Museum's shop window.
