Workshop and Masterclass with Gosaribaksa: Introduction to K-Webtoon

On Wednesday 28 February, the Design and Creative Industries Campus of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, was visited by the Korean artist Gosaribaksa, author of the famous work Rebirth in Paradise.

The session, which was divided into two parts, began with a workshop that will take place in the Le Corbusier classroom, where various topics such as the process of creating a webtoon, the strategic design of vertical vignettes and composition for webtoon or the development of a storyboard, to begin the creation of a webtoon by the students.

Once the workshop was over, Gosaribaksa gave a masterclass in the University Auditorium, in which she presented her work Rebirth in Paradise and talked about different topics such as her career as a webtoon author, or the professional situation of webtoon authors in Korea, among others.

Exceptional impact and quality of the work on the manwha scene

Author of Rebirth in Paradise, Gosaribaksa displayed her genius in 2008 by bringing this work to life on an independent webtoon platform in Korea.

In a remarkable career milestone, in 2019, Gosaribaksa was awarded the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award in the manhwa category at the Korea Contents Awards and, just two years later, her webtoon was selected as one of the best manhwa by the Korean Manhwa Contents Agency.

This recognition underlines the exceptional quality and impact of Gosaribaksa's work in the manhwa scene. Recently, the author has collaborated with other young manhwa illustrators in her country to create a work entitled Women's Power.
