DR. Carlos Fernández Rodríguez

PhD cum laude in Communication from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid). He is a full-time lecturer at the Universidad del Atlántico Medio (Las Palmas) on the Film and Communication degrees and is part of the GITDCom research group at UDIT (Madrid). He is a student at ECAM (Escuela de Cine y Audiovisuales de Madrid), graduated in Audiovisual Communication (University of Seville) and holds a master's degree in Audiovisual Communication and Education (University of Huelva and International University of Andalusia).
His research focuses on the study of narrative and cinematographic phenomena, with special attention to the role played by series and films as cultural expressions. Her work analyses how the narrative consumption of these audiovisual products is related to sociological and political dynamics, exploring the ways in which audiovisual narratives reflect, construct and transform collective imaginaries and social discourses.
