Since 2023 he has been the Rector Magnifico of the University of Design, Innovation and Technology UDIT. He was Rector Magnificent of the Nebrija University from 2014 to 2020, in addition to countless unipersonal positions of government in different universities. Throughout his teaching career, which began in 1993, he has taught uninterruptedly until the present day in a wide range of subjects and subjects covering all his areas of expertise. He was evaluated positively by the Madrid agency as an accredited professor and has been appointed as a visiting professor in several foreign universities. He obtained from the European Union in 2022 the Jean Monnet EUDEFENCE Chair, the first chair in European Security and Defence awarded in Spain.

He is a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation, where he is a member of the Ibero-American Law Section and a member of the permanent seminar on Natural Law; he is also a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Puerto Rico and a Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a member of the Spanish chapter of the PUGWASH Movement (Nobel Peace Prize 1995). Full member of the Instituto Internazionale di Studi Europei Antonio Rosmini, Bolzano (Italy). Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for National and International Security in Serbia. President of the CICA International Foundation. For his academic and personal merits he has been awarded the Grand Cross of Naval Merit by the Spanish Ministry of Defence, the Distinguished Cross of First Class of San Raimundo de Peñafort by the Spanish Ministry of Justice, and in the international field, among others, he was awarded the Medal of the Colombian War College and the academic distinction of the General Directorate of Schools of the Colombian National Police, the Order of the Bar Association of Lima and the Ibero-American Human Rights Prize awarded by the Ibero-American Academy of Legal and Victimological Sciences, Victim Law and Human Rights, based at the Mexican Institute of Victimology.
