D. in Philosophy and Educational Sciences from the University of Salamanca (USAL), where she also studied for a Master's Degree in Educational Technology. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Educational Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora. Senior Research Professor and member Level 3 of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of Mexico, she participates in doctoral programmes in America, Asia, Europe and serves as an international advisor at the University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT).
As UNESCO and ICDE Chair of the Open Education Movement for Latin America, he articulates training and research networks to promote equitable access to learning and strengthen capacities to promote quality education for all. Her research focuses on education and open science and educational innovation. It leads research groups and innovative projects through global networks based on Open Education and Science, 5.0 Technologies and cross-sector collaboration, with an emphasis on sustainable development.
As a trainer of academic talent, Dr. Ramírez-Montoya specialises in preparing leaders in education with a focus on pedagogical innovation, educational entrepreneurship and open knowledge generation. With a track record dedicated to educational innovation, her work as a consultant and advisor focuses on catalysing changes that position education and open science as tools for equity and sustainable social transformation, through partnerships and international cooperation.
