Rubén Vega Balbás

Artist, Academic, PolymathMy name is Rubén Vega Balbás, I am an artist and academic committed to exploring the intersection between creativity and technology through imagination and research. My work encompasses diverse fields such as performance and philosophy, technology and new media, cybernetic art, communicative devices and arts pedagogy. As a creative technologist, I specialise in video art, stage lighting, electronic solutions and interactive multimedia installations for museums, theatre companies and the film industry. In addition to my artistic activities, I am a full-stack developer with expertise in cloud computing, virtualisation, microservices, Linux server administration, networking, JSON and XML data architecture, and both SQL and graphical databases. As a programmer, I am proficient in JavaScript ES6, Python, Node.js, BASH scripting and Makefiles. As an artist, I am also a stage director, musician and photographer.
