The session highlighted projects with high transfer potential and a strong commitment to welfare and social inclusion.

On 17 October 2025, UDIT held the third session of its Research Ethics Committee (REC), where three new members joined: Dr. Bárbara Castillo Abdul, Dr. María del Mar Martínez Oña and Dr. Luis Peña Sánchez.

With these additions, the REC consolidates an interdisciplinary approach, which strengthens the ethical evaluation of projects in all areas of the University.

Dr. Castillo Abdul, double PhD, ANECA-accredited academic and leader of the group Innovation and Digital Transformation of Communication(GITDCom) stands out for her career in critical analysis of digital communication and media literacy with a citizen perspective. Dr. Martínez Oña, a doctor with a recognised six-year doctorate and ANECA accreditations, IP of the Design, Visual Culture and Gender(GENIUS) group, brings experience in gender studies, art history, communication and digital animation. Dr. Luis Peña Sánchez, PhD in Computer Engineering, participant of the Innovation and Technology From and for Education, Culture and Society(ECSiT) group and founder of Lurtis, adds his expertise in artificial intelligence, simulation and modelling of behaviour in virtual environments.

Three (3) research projects were evaluated in the session: "Active Neurodesign in the School Environment: A Multidimensional Strategy to Prevent Childhood Obesity" presented by Dr. Ivette Caldelas Sánchez; "Awareness of colour blindness in higher education students" presented by Prof. Ester Campos and "Neuroarchitecture in the School Environment: A Multidimensional Strategy to Prevent Childhood Obesity" presented by Dr. Ivette Caldelas Sánchez; " Neuroarchitecture in the School Environment: A Multidimensional Strategy to Prevent Childhood Obesity" presented by Dr. Ivette Caldelas Sánchez. Ester Campos and "Neuroarchitecture for neurodivergent individuals: creation of a wellbeing index of educational spaces for learning for neurodivergent individuals (NEU4NEU)" presented by Dr. María Beltrán Rodríguez.

These initiatives reflect the hallmark of UDIT: research with a social purpose, oriented towards well-being, inclusion and the improvement of the educational experience.

With this instance, the CEI deepens its institutional commitment to integrity, transparency and traceability throughout the research value chain. It also reinforces its role in ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting alignment between design, technology and ethical principles that strengthen open science and public trust.

The ERC has launched its website (https://www.udit.es/cei-udit/), where calls, evaluated projects, forms and news can be consulted. Applications may be submitted during the first five days of each month and will be evaluated in the third week, issuing letters of approval that strengthen academic competitiveness and the projection of our researchers.
