UDIT brings to Mexico "OASIS: The Videogames Exhibition".
The exhibition includes 13 video games and shows developments that question and generate reflection on this sector.
It will be held at the Centro Multimedia del Cenart (CMM) from 11 May to 11 June 2023.
The Centro Multimedia del Centro Nacional de las Artes (Cenart), in collaboration with UDIT, Universidad de Diseño y Tecnología, and with the support of Acción Cultural Española, inaugurated the exhibition OASIS on 10 May.
In June 2022, UDIT opened OASIS in Madrid. The University Campus became for a few days a game board inhabited by artistic, independent and experimental developments that put in check several certainties held about art and play.
One year later, OASIS, the UDIT initiative, travels to Mexico to be held at Cenart.
OASIS is made up of 13 games divided into four thematic nodes: narrative, activism, affect and immersion. In this way, experimental, independent video games and art games meet again to generate a hybrid between gallery and living room, inviting the visitor to rethink certain beliefs and redesign the rules.
For several years, the Multimedia Centre has been working to create a community of people interested in the production of video games with an artistic, educational and cultural perspective. Every year, jams, workshops and a call for proposals are held to reflect and educate the public interested in the subject. OASIS represents another window to show the possibilities of video games and consolidate our offer.
The exhibition with which UDIT travels to Mexico includes a programme of parallel activities made up of talks, workshops and documentary screenings, with the participation of institutions such as SAE Institute Mexico, FINISTERRA UNAM, Cultura Lúdica UAM, Universidad Anáhuac, Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño del Tecnológico de Monterrey, Digra Mx and Games for change.
OASIS will be exhibited at the Manuel Felguérez Electronic Art Gallery of the Multimedia Centre from 11 May to 11 June 2023, Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
