UDIT participates as a collaborating academic entity in BIG Conference 2023
Every year, the city of Bilbao becomes the capital of video game design and development during the Bilbao International Games Conference; an event which, under the slogan "celebrating video game culture and video games as culture", attracts thousands of people each year and in which the most prominent names in the national and international video game industry take part.
In this edition, which will be held on 15 and 16 December, UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, is participating as a collaborating academic entity, and will also have the opportunity to present two of the best Final Degree Projects from the last year of the University's Degree in Design and Development of Videogames and Virtual Environments at their stands.
K.O. Knight Overhand (finalist in the independent BIG Indie Contest), by Jesús García Gutiérrez, Darío Muñoz Lanuza and Albert Liu Zhu, all of them students of the Degree, and Babelship: Tales from the Black Hole Suburb, by Lizar Presumido Jiménez, Ángela Navarro Sala, David del Pino Morales, Patricia Esteban Toscano, Manuel Sánchez Martínez, Guillermo Sirera Blanco, Alejandro Osset Ojea, Simón García Barea and Maite Rendón Caballero, all of them also alumni of the aforementioned Degree, will be the projects that will represent UDIT in the BIG Conference 2023 edition.
Finally, and completing the participation of the University in the event, Carlos Cortés, Game Programer at Brainwash Gang and alumni of the Degree in Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments at UDIT, will give the session The Godot Revolution: The future of indie studios.
An event for industry professionals
Picking up the baton from the Fun&Serious Game Festival, inaugurated in 2011, the BIG Conference is a proposal that mixes professional presentations with activities aimed at the general public such as esports competitions, talks and lectures.
