UDIT presents its new Proto Space, a technological experimentation laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment.
With the intention of reinforcing its commitment to innovation and technology, UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, will inaugurate its new International Campus of Technology, Innovation and Applied Sciences next academic year 2024/2025.
A new building located at Calle Alcalá 506 in Madrid with 7,000 m2 of facilities, in addition to the more than 14,000 m2 that the university already offers on its current campuses, which will house the new Official University Degrees in Full-Stack Software Development, Degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Degree in Mathematics Applied to Software Engineering, as well as the Degree in Product Design, in addition to the postgraduate offer with the Masters in UX, Product Design and Artificial Intelligence.
A new laboratory for technological experimentation: PROTO SPACE
Reiterating the commitment to "academic excellence and cutting-edge technology", and with the intention of providing state-of-the-art facilities that encourage experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration between degrees, the new UDIT Proto Space is born, a cutting-edge laboratory of technology, science, innovation and materials that will have more than 1,000 square metres and will be located in the new International Campus of Technology, Innovation and Applied Sciences of UDIT.
In this laboratory, students will have the opportunity to experiment and practice the subjects and projects that require research, experimentation and prototyping, thanks to the possibility of working with state-of-the-art equipment such as robotic arms, laser cutters and engravers, CNC milling machines, welding ovens, thermoforming presses, 3D printers of different technologies, work tables for microelectronics, robotics, wearable devices and Internet of Things (IoT), virtual and augmented reality capture systems, equipment for experimentation on autonomous vehicles, design and programming of aerospace technology, among other technologies and equipment to which students will have access from the first year.
In addition, the new UDIT Proto Space will include an Entrepreneurship Centre which, as well as promoting students' entrepreneurial ideas and vocations, will also serve as a space for collaboration with companies, technology clusters and science centres from all over Spain, whose professionals will use the facilities to work on projects and research co-developed with UDIT, in a clear commitment to promote a two-way knowledge transfer ecosystem that enriches the innovative capacity of companies together with the academic experience of students, as well as their possibilities of immersion in the professional world in a deeper and more continuous way, beyond the usual internships in companies.
